This world mental health day (10 October), City have teamed up with Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to start conversations and raise awareness about mental health.

Mental health workers from all support services (children’s services, steps2change and older people and frailty services) offered by LPFT were at City’s game against Charlton Athletic to talk to fans about their mental health and showcase support options in the county.

Anita Lewin, director of nursing at LPFT said: “It’s really important for us to support men, as we know they don’t often share their feelings. We hope by being in the fan village, we can start a conversation – letting people know that we’re here to help. We will also be sharing practical ways to boost wellbeing and information about local support.”

Jake Longworth, Head of Communications at Lincoln City Football Club, said: “The club and Lincoln City Foundation are pleased to be supporting this work, spreading such important messages and hopefully encouraging more conversations around mental health.”

For mental health support in Lincolnshire, call the 24/7 mental health helpline on 0800 001 433, or visit www.lpft.nhs.uk.
